High tech, high warmth

Skolkovo Technopark welcomes cutting edge high-tech start-ups in Russia’s “Silicon Valley” near Moscow and has been designed as a multidisciplinary meeting place for researchers and entrepreneurs.

The main space where they congregate is a large gallery at the center of the building, an urban square 300m long, safe from bad weather and Russian winters.
VPdesign chose to stimulate the dynamics of encounters with a powerful symbol right in the center of the gallery: a futuristic amphitheater installed high off the ground, resembling a round levitating spaceship covered in reflective metal.

Libraries, cafés and shops enclosed in glass kiosks with fluid shapes give further rhythm to the space.

Signage itself, which enhances atmosphere and identity, is treated on a large scale with big luminous spheres that seem to float like hot-air balloons.

Even in very technological environments, VPdesign always embraces emotional and human dimensions to support and stage their inner functions.
